Nona Postpartum Doula Training

The Nona postpartum doula training covers the basics of the physical and emotional aspects of postpartum care and recovery, mindfulness, and psycho-therapeutic skills to help new parents navigate the transition into parenthood

    • Support parents to make their own best decisions

    • Learn skills for processing difficult birth experiences

    • Support parents to express conflicting emotions

    • Know when to refer

  • Mindfulness for early parenting and for the postpartum doula

  • Household support

  • Identify physical and emotional barriers to recovery

  • Baby care basics

  • Herbal education and support including sitz bath recipe

  • Understanding various parenting perspectives

  • Postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and baby blues; recognizing red flags

  • Postpartum education and support; normalizing recovery

Each training will hold space for BIPOC folks who would like to attend with a scholarship or on a sliding scale. No application is necessary, just contact Erica to find out if space is available.

Payment plans are also available by request.

Prerequisites:

Doulas are required to have some baby care basics and comfort level with baby care before attending.

Doulas are strongly encouraged to take infant CPR courses and breastfeeding education courses to accompany the postpartum doula training.

Location and Accommodations

Students agree to take a COVID test to be sure they are negative the morning before attending the training and during the training if symptoms arise.

In-person trainings will be held in an Air BnB in central Columbia Mo. A full kitchen is available for food preparation and the location is close to many restaurants and downtown Columbia.

Cancellation Policy

Full refunds are available up to one month before the training.

  • Up to three weeks before the training a 75% refund is available

  • Up to two weeks before the training a 50% refund is available.

  • No refunds are available after two weeks before the training.

  • **If we cancel due to low enrollment or other circumstances you will receive a full refund.

    All refunds will be subject to processing fees
